Summary
Accoil enables you to create both Account-Based Segments and User-Based Segments for richer, more actionable insights. This dual approach lets you understand not only how entire accounts engage with your product but also the behaviors and patterns of individual users within those accounts.
How this helps
Not all accounts or users engage the same way. By segmenting them, you can zoom in on specific engagement patterns, optimize messaging, and prioritize the right actions. This means sharper targeting, smarter product decisions, and more effective outreach.
Create Segments for Accounts and Users:
Account-Based Segments:
View the number and list of accounts that meet your criteria.
Track key activity and engagement metrics across different account types.
Compare engagement scores between segments to identify opportunities and risks.
Drill down to see individual accounts within each segment for detailed analysis.
User-Based Segments:
Track individual user behavior, activation signals, and product adoption.
Identify power users, at-risk users, and dormant accounts for more precise targeting
Creating Account segments
Select your nominated Profile and click on "Accounts" or "Users" on the left hand nav bar.
Click on the "Select segment" button.
Click "Add segment"
4. Add Segment Name
5. Click on "Add Filter" and choose your filter type
From there, you can create Account segments based on events, traits, active status, # of users or engagement scores (or any combination).
6. Preview your matching results and adjust your requirements as needed. Once satisfied, click "Add Segment."
7. Utilize the dashboard to compare the average scores and behaviors of accounts and users within this segment against others, gaining insights into their engagement patterns.
Example Account Segments:
"New but active" — Accounts created in the last 30 days with an engagement score over 60
"Enterprise, inactive" — Accounts with more than 50 users but no events in the last 14 days
"Self-serve high performers" — Accounts on a basic plan using core features daily
"Trial drop-offs" — Trial accounts that didn’t activate key events like onboarding or setup
Example User Segments:
New Users Onboarded — Users created in the last 14 days who have completed the onboarding process.
Power Users — Users with daily activity and high feature adoption (e.g., interacting with key features 5+ times per week).
At-Risk Users — Users who were highly active last month but have seen a 50% drop in activity over the past two weeks.
Feature Explorers — Users who have engaged with three or more new features in the last 30 days.
Dormant Users — Users who haven’t logged in or performed any key actions in the past 30 days.
